Competition Cancelled Tonight 20/10

Sadly, the much needed rain has won the battle and the committee have no choice but to cancel tonight. We hope you all enjoy your weekend. It's a great night to curl up on the couch and let those nagging injuries rest for a week. See you at training on Tuesday or at next Friday night's competition. Scott Kitto

Australian Little Athletics Championships

The Asics Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC) are being held at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre on 22 & 23 April 2017 and we would love for you and your family to come out to SOPAC and help cheer on our NSW athletes.

The ALAC encompasses the Australian Teams Championships for U13 athletes and the Australian Multi-Event Championships for U15 athletes. A team of twenty-six (26) athletes will represent each State in the U13 Teams Event and six (6) athletes will represent each State in the U15 Multi-Event.

The ALAC weekend starts with an Opening Ceremony at 9.30am on Saturday, with Saturday’s events running from 11.30am to 4.15pm, and concludes with a Closing Ceremony on Sunday at 4pm, following the final events of the weekend; the 4x100m relays. A copy of the full program can be downloaded HERE.

We would particularly love to see as many families as possible from the centres that have one of their athletes in the NSW team. To see the athletes who are members of the NSW team, click HERE.  Why not organise a group, along with some chants and signs, and if you let us know you have formed a cheer squad, we will reserve a place for you in the grandstand!

We will also be offering some great prizes for both individuals and centres who attend and show their support, so watch out for further details over the next few of weeks in the lead-up to the event.

Finally, we are also giving all of our members the opportunity to pre-order some limited edition event merchandise. The chance to pre-order this merchandise is normally only available to members of the various State Teams, but we have extended this opportunity to all of our members, for this week ONLY. To see the items available, and to place your order, download an order form HERE.

The 2017 ALAC will see some fantastic young athletes vying for the title of Little Athletics national champion while at the same time earning points for their State Team to try and take out the overall Teams Trophy! We look forward to seeing you there to help cheer the NSW team to success!

Kind regards,

2017 ALAC Organising Committee
